About

Hi, I’m Christiane.

Christiane Churchill-Ley seated on a sofa, chin resting on her hand, smiling to camera.

My work has grown out of a lifelong curiosity about what it means to be human. Long before I found Internal Family Systems (IFS), my years as a homeopath were deeply influenced by the writings of C.G. Jung and other pioneers who explored the inner world. Alongside this, my own long-term psychotherapy became a profound source of learning, gradually leading me towards the work I do today.

For more than twenty years I have accompanied people through change, healing and personal transformation. Throughout those years, my understanding has continued to deepen, but one thing has remained constant: a profound respect for each person’s innate capacity to heal and grow.

What continues to inspire me about IFS is its remarkable simplicity. My work is deeply rooted in the original model as it was developed by Richard Schwartz and taught by the senior trainers with whom I had the privilege to learn. Over the years, that appreciation has only deepened. Again and again, I find myself returning to the elegance and minimalism of the model, and to the profound respect it holds for the innate healing capacity within every person.

Whether I am working with an individual, a couple or a group of practitioners, I aim to stay close to that simplicity. Rather than bringing more into the room, I seek to create the conditions in which healing can unfold naturally, trusting the wisdom that emerges when Self is able to lead.

Again and again, I have returned to a simple understanding: healing is not something we create. It is something that remains when what obscures it has been gently met, understood and released. As we come to know and unburden the protective patterns that have shaped our lives, what emerges is not something new, but something that has always been there: our innate capacity for curiosity, compassion, courage, clarity and connection.

The depth of our work with others is profoundly shaped by the depth of the work we have done within ourselves. This principle sits at the heart of everything I teach and every training I offer.

UnfoldingSelf is the natural home for that work. It is a place for inquiry, learning and practice, for those who wish to deepen their relationship with themselves and, through that, deepen the way they meet others.

Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome to begin exactly where you are.
